Start with warm skin. After a bath or shower is the perfect moment. The heat has done its work. Your muscles have released, your skin has softened, and the noise of the day has started to recede. You are already halfway there.

Take less than you think you need. Scoop a small amount of your body butter and hold it between your palms. Don't rush this part. Feel it respond to your warmth, softening and opening. Notice the scent as it rises - this is your first invitation to arrive.

Begin at your feet. Work upward in slow, deliberate circles, giving each area your full attention before moving on. This is not moisturising. This is a conscious act of care, directed inward, unhurried, intentional. The strokes are not incidental to the ritual. They are the ritual.

Stay with your breath. As the butter absorbs, let your awareness follow your hands. Notice the weight of them. Notice where your body holds tension and let the warmth soften it. The scent is still there, come back to it whenever your mind wanders. It will. That’s okay.
